We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers!
Do you want to make impact on Finnish youth? Children and young people are constantly exposed to body utopian ideals, soaring character requirements and unrealistic objectives on social media and among peers. But where is their confidence and self-esteem? How will they believe in themselves and dare to go their own way? If you want to help to shape Finnish youth and help them to live a life with respect, tolerance, self-confidence and own dreams, then join us.
In Global Dignity, we believe that we can change the world with dignity. We do this partly through our Global Dignity Days as 300,000 children and young people around the world experience every year. Global Dignity Day is a 2-hour event that we hold in cooperation with secondary schools located in the Helsinki region. During the day, Finnish role models share personal stories and show youth on what matters: self-esteem, self-confidence, power to dream and feel worthy. Every year we also arrange Global Dignity Girls, which is a large, free event just for teenage girls. There is also an event for boys called Global Dignity Boys. Since 2015 we have organized multiple events and reached over 2900 students. Our most recent event was the Taitaja Global Dignity 2017 (Taitaja 2017, Messukeskus) in which succeeded reach over 1500 young people and put youth skills and dignity in focus.
As proud producers of successful events, we need more passionate people to help make it happen. Once you join as a volunteer, there is ample opportunity to get involved and have a direct influence how we arrange events and make impact. We want to find a person who shares our values and wants to grow and take responsibility. We are flexible about where and when you want to work, but note that the work will often also require some office time presence during weekdays and sometimes the availability to meet during weekends (we love having cake and coffee together).
What will you be working with? We are currently looking for a Social Media Ambassador, a stealthy Communications Ninja and Project Coordinator. While working with us, you will be also able to work with overall event management, project management, logistics, social media, marketing and communications (depending on your strengths and interests). So, if you are comfortable with learning a lot of new stuff, crazy about social media and want to work and learn from real-life experience, then join us. The work is voluntary, but the rewards in terms of experience, networking, unity and fun moments, etc. is big. We’d love for you to grow into a dignitarian like us.
How to apply? Feel free to drop Kamilla Sultanova an email firstname.lastname@example.org or call her 040 4517 080. We are no fans of boring interviews, so let’s have a relaxing chat over a coffee! ☕
